Childrens Crisis Intervention Key Worker
At Serenity Welfare we look after children in Crisis when no one else can. This is more that a support worker role, you will need to have a nurturing approach and be passionate, resilient, and committed to promoting the physical, emotional, and intellectual wellbeing of the children we work with.
They can have complex needs and trauma related behaviours from being exploited in areas such as Drugs, Gangs, Violence, Sexual and Criminal Exploitation. They may also have Mental Health and Learning disabilities.

Main Duties and responsibilities
- Working as part of a team, build a professional relationship with the children/young people based on trust enabling them to feel safe and secure in our care.
- Adhere to risk assessments and implement strategies to address and improve the child’s self-esteem and behaviour.
- Coach, mentor and support the young person to encourage greater social inclusion.
- Have effective communication skills, be able to assess and respond to the individual needs of the child and guide them on various topics including health, fitness, smoking, life skills, social inclusion.
- To assist in the provision of meals in the home. And if age and risk appropriate teaching the children to cook.
- Implementing strategies such as planned daily activities, organised recreational activities and other interventions as directed.
- Attend regular training and development opportunities to maintain up to date knowledge on key topics suck as Safeguarding, First Aid, and other local Policy documents.
- Undertake administrative tasks and maintain effective recording systems.
- To adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- To work as part of a team, you are supported in this role by a Team Manager and the company DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead)
- The shift are 24 hours on a three-to-four-day rota basis including weekends – there is an element of flexibility on this, but a minimum shift pattern of 48 hours would be required to maintain stability for the child/young person.
- Applicants will need to be flexible as we care for children at various locations.
