Faye's Way Charity
Faye was 35 years old when she suddenly past away of a heart attack. This left two
beautiful young daughters without a mother. After a long custody battle with their
father — having left Faye and the girls 5 years prior — their grandmother and aunty
were awarded full custody and parental control of the girls.
Emily was asked by a friend working in the care system to consider opening a
business for welfare services for children in care. Her friend advised Emily that
there was a real need for a company that genuinely cared and nurtured children and
young people in care. Emily had a successful career in property and construction for
over 18 years prior to her sister’s passing and didn’t have any knowledge of the care
system. However, she decided to research and look into the care system and felt
that there was a great need for a service to help, nurture and guide these children
and young people in care.
If Emily and her mother had not won custody of the girls they would of entered
into the system and would probably have been split up as sisters dealing with the
trauma and loss of their mother and being in care.
This is how Serenity Welfare was born!
